Personal Public Radio (PPR)
You may have heard of National Public Radio or Public
Radio International, but Personal Public
Radio (PPR) is a new concept to create
your own internet radio station.
2Geckos has developed a technique that programs your
Personal Public Radio from freely available sources to personalize how
you listen to the news.
Sources such as NPR Morning Edition, Paul Harvey new
and commentary, Earth & Sky, Australian Broadcasting Radio, BBC World
Service, etc. The currently available subscription contains 45 sources
of news, sports, science, health issues, and international broadcasts
and hundreds of topics in all languages.
News stories are in 3 time categories; 3 to 7
minutes, 8 to 30 minutes, or streaming audio.
And since no one wants to only listen to the news,
each news story is alternated with music from your local playlist and
other commentaries.
This will be an internet based player but will have a small
application loaded locally to allow users to build custom news & music
playlists. We will soon be accepting beta testers for
GeckoRadio, if you are interested please check the GeckoRadio box in the
form at the bottom of this page.
